Working in Simpsonville

Simpsonville is part of our Upstate South Carolina service area, along with Greenville, Fountain Inn and Greer. We run down into the Upstate from Asheville regularly, and a Simpsonville job gets the same crew as an Asheville one.

Upstate work runs flatter and more residential than the mountain jobs at home. It is mostly driveway installation and repair, drainage around structures, lot clearing and site prep for new build.

What it includes

Everything we do, locally.

  • Gravel Driveways. New drives cut, based and crowned to shed water — built for grade, not for flat ground.
  • Driveway Repair. Ruts, washboard and washout corrected, then re-crowned so it stops coming back.
  • Drainage. Culverts, catch basins, French drains and riprap — moving water off the drive and away from the house.
  • Land Clearing. Lots, building sites and overgrown acreage opened up and hauled off.
  • Forestry Mulching. Brush, saplings and undergrowth cut and mulched in place. No burn pile, no haul-off.
  • Grading. Rough and finish grading to a slope that drains instead of holding water.
  • Site Prep. Raw ground made buildable — cleared, stripped, graded and accessed.
  • House Pads. Compacted pads built to spec on ground that was never flat to begin with.
  • Retaining Walls. Block and stone walls that hold a cut bank and keep the drive where you put it.

Clearing

Lot and land clearing in Simpsonville

Clearing means different things depending on what the ground is for. A building lot needs the stumps and root mat gone and the surface stripped. An overgrown back lot or a fence line does not, and forestry mulching is faster and cheaper there.

We tell you which one your project needs. Trees come down and are hauled, stacked or processed. Debris is hauled off or processed on site. The cleared ground is graded so you are left with a usable site. More on our land clearing page. For a new house, see site preparation.

Driveways

Gravel driveways on red clay

The Upstate is heavy red clay, and stone tipped straight onto soft ground disappears into it. We build a gravel driveway up in courses: a coarse base stone that locks together, then the surface on top, crowned so water runs off to the sides.

If your drive ruts or washes, we look at where the water is coming from first. Then we re-cut the shape and put the surface back. See driveway repair and grading.

Drainage

Drainage and grading around the house

Most water problems on a property are grading problems: ground that falls toward the house, a flat spot that holds water, a yard that never dries after rain. Grading fixes the shape of the ground so water has somewhere to go. Where the water is moving through the ground instead of over it, a French drain carries it away.

Estimates are free and on site. See the Greenville page for the rest of the county, or the full service area.

Do you do land clearing in Simpsonville, SC?

Yes. Simpsonville is part of our Upstate South Carolina service area. We clear building lots, house sites and overgrown acreage, and remove stumps and root mat where the ground will be built on.

Do you install gravel driveways in Simpsonville?

Yes. We build new gravel driveways and repair and regrade existing ones. A drive is built on a base stone first, then the surface, and crowned so water runs off it.

Do you haul the debris away after clearing?

Yes, or we can process it on site. Which is better depends on the volume, the access and what you want the ground to look like afterwards.

Is the estimate free?

Yes. Estimates are free and on site, with no obligation. Where a job is simple enough to price from photographs and a description, we will say so and save you the appointment.
