Working in Inman
We come down I-26 from Asheville into Spartanburg County regularly, and Inman is one of the towns we cover. It is north-west of Spartanburg, inside the same service area.
If you have overgrown acreage, a fence line you can no longer walk or a wooded lot you want to use, forestry mulching is usually where the job starts. A mulching head grinds brush, saplings and undergrowth into chip where it stands. There is no burn pile, no burn permit and nothing to haul off.
Where the ground is going to be built on, the stumps and root mat have to come out. That is land clearing, and we do that too.
Everything we do, locally.
- Gravel Driveways. New drives cut, based and crowned to shed water — built for grade, not for flat ground.
- Driveway Repair. Ruts, washboard and washout corrected, then re-crowned so it stops coming back.
- Drainage. Culverts, catch basins, French drains and riprap — moving water off the drive and away from the house.
- Land Clearing. Lots, building sites and overgrown acreage opened up and hauled off.
- Forestry Mulching. Brush, saplings and undergrowth cut and mulched in place. No burn pile, no haul-off.
- Grading. Rough and finish grading to a slope that drains instead of holding water.
- Site Prep. Raw ground made buildable — cleared, stripped, graded and accessed.
- House Pads. Compacted pads built to spec on ground that was never flat to begin with.
- Retaining Walls. Block and stone walls that hold a cut bank and keep the drive where you put it.
Mulching
Forestry mulching around Inman
Mulching is a single-machine operation, which is why it is quicker and cheaper than clearing on the ground it suits. It is the right answer for overgrown ground, fence lines, trail and view cutting, and thinning under mature trees.
The chip is left on the ground. The Upstate is heavy red clay, and the chip layer holds soil that full clearing would leave bare. It also slows regrowth while the site settles. Mulching does not kill root systems, so ground you want kept open will need a return visit. More on our forestry mulching page.
Building
Clearing and site prep for a build
Spartanburg County work is largely new residential ground. Lots are cleared, pads are cut, drives are put in and drainage is handled before the builder arrives. One crew does the whole sequence, so nothing falls between two contractors.
See land clearing and site preparation for how each part is done.
Driveways
Gravel driveways and drainage
We also build and repair gravel driveways. The ground here is flatter than in the mountains, which changes the build but not the principle. A drive lasts when water runs off it instead of down it, and when it sits on a proper base instead of soft clay.
Estimates are free and on site. See the Spartanburg page for the rest of the county, or the full service area.

Do you offer forestry mulching services in Inman, SC?
Yes. Inman is in Spartanburg County, which is part of our Upstate South Carolina service area. We mulch overgrown lots, acreage, fence lines and property lines.
What is the difference between forestry mulching and land clearing?
Mulching grinds brush, saplings and undergrowth into chip where it stands and leaves the soil covered. Clearing takes the stumps and root mat out. If the ground is going to be built on, graded or paved, you need clearing. If you want overgrown ground opened up, mulching is faster and cheaper.
Can you mulch a fence line or a property line?
Yes. Fence lines and property lines are jobs that mulching suits. We mark the line and anything you want left standing before the machine starts.
Is the estimate free?
Yes. Estimates are free and on site, with no obligation. Where a job is simple enough to price from photographs and a description, we will say so and save you the appointment.
